But Windows 8 will probably need a high-end graphics card with DirectX above latest version 11, maybe 12 when Windows DirectX 8 is available for installation. There has been no official statement about the Direct X 12 from Microsoft and you can still run Windows 8 with the old graphics card but may lose the new features brought by Windows 8 with additional DirectX.
