Script for Installing Oracle Java (JDK) 7 on Ubuntu
A few days ago, I’ve written articles about how to install Sun Java 6 on Ubuntu via a PPA. In the article Sun Java application package downloaded from Launchpad PPA, but Oracle’s Java 7 could not be so because of licensing issues that must be downloaded directly from the site as well as Flash Player. Fortunately there are administrators who have made WebUpd8 blog script to download and install Oracle’s Java 7 on a computer. Plus, the script has been uploaded into Launchpad so you do not need to bother installing them. Okay let’s get started!
To install the script by which I mean please type the following command in Terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa: webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-installer-jdk7
During the installation process, the script will automatically download the Oracle Java 7 of the site and then installed on the computer. If you are to remove the Oracle Java 7, just type the following command in Terminal:
sudo apt-get remove oracle-installer-jdk7
